FAQs
Thinking about your smile makeover?
Here’s what people ask first.
A smile makeover combines multiple dental treatments to deliver a beautiful, natural-looking smile for patients. The mix of treatment varies based on the condition of teeth, bones and gums; budget; and desired timescales.
Prices vary based on the mix of treatments and materials required. From simple teeth whitening costing £395 to premium full mouth dental implants costing £49,995 (finance available) discuss your options and tailor your smile makeover to deliver the result you want at a price you can afford.
Smile makeovers can take a few hours for our fastest composite bonding treatment; to several months in the case of veneers, crowns and implants; to years in the case of complex cases requiring braces. The duration changes based on your individual needs and the mix of treatment required.
A smile makeover includes everything. The mix of treatments is based on what's required to achieve the result you want at the price you can afford. Typical treatments combine:
Pain management
- Local anaesthetic
- Customised sedation
Remedial work
- Treating gum disease
- Gum grafts
- Bone grafts
- Filling cavities
- Composite repairs
- Teeth whitening
- Tooth extraction
- Root canal
Tooth replacement
- Dental implants
- Crowns, caps, onlays etc
- Dental bridges
- Dentures
Veneers

- Porcelain veneers
Orthodontics
- Braces

Smile makeovers are available for all adults over 18 where the skeleton has fully grown.
It is not fully available for kids and teens where teeth and bone growth has not yet finished.
Yes. Seniors can have a wide range of smile makeover treatments designed to not only create a beautiful smile, but also a pain-free bite. This gives you the ability to confidently chew, smile and sing once again, enjoying your favourite foods from steak and apple to strawberries, pastries and biscuits.
As teenage teeth have yet to fully grow only a limited range of cosmetic dental treatments are available for teens. This requires the consent of a parent or guardian. Please contact us to discuss your issues and desired results.
A smile makeover offers many benefits to middle aged adults including:
- Replace discolouration with whitening and composite bonding treatments
- Fill gaps in your smile with dental implants and bridges
- Straighten crooked teeth with discreet orthodontics
- Replace gaps between teeth with orthodontics or edge bonding
- Cover damaged and uneven teeth with veneers
- Treat gum disease and bleeding gums with hygiene appointments
- Treat receding gums with a gum graft
- Fix cracked and damaged teeth with composite bonding, crowns, onlays and overlays etc
Each individual treatment in your smile makeover lasts a different amount of time e.g.
- Dental implants: Last up to 20+ years
- Veneers and crowns: Last up to 15+ years
- Composite bonding: Lasts up to 8+ years
- Teeth whitening: Lasts up to 2 years
- Orthodontics: Last a lifetime (requires wearing retainers at night)
To keep your smile makeover results looking great it is important to have excellent oral hygiene, and to attend any check-ups and oral hygiene appointments.

We have over 200 fully qualified GDC-registered oral surgeons, orthodontists, cosmetic dentists and hygienists who are at the top of their game, and are ready to create your perfect new smile. Each clinic has been recently refurbished to deliver a spa-like experience that is second to none. We use the latest materials, CAD CAM and digital dental technologies to streamline each procedure.
A cosmetic dentist has all of the basic training and qualifications expected of a GDC-registered dentist. This has been expanded to cover specialist cosmetic procedures including composite bonding, veneers and crowns that are not covered in the basic curriculum. Cosmetic dentists draw on support from other medical professionals including oral surgeons, hygienists and orthodontists to provide a complete solution for patients undergoing a smile makeover.
No. While a cosmetic dentist is able to perform all the same treatments as a general dentist, a cosmetic dentist has undergone additional training and qualification in specific cosmetic procedures.
Yes - but the main reason is not because of the additional expertise. Cosmetic treatments often require specialist materials, or use expensive technologies and procedures that require a lot of time to complete. This makes cosmetic dental treatments more expensive compared to general dentistry.
In most cases yes, but where a wisdom tooth has become impacted they may need to call upon an oral surgeon to perform the extraction. Contact your dentist for a consultation to check your eligibility.
Yes. The alternative is clear aligners. This treatment uses removable transparent aligners to apply pressure to individual teeth. This gradually moves each tooth along a predefined path until it is in alignment. Aligners do not require an orthodontic qualification and can be fit and managed using a general dentist.
Yes, if the cosmetic dentist holds an orthodontic qualification. Otherwise no. If you require braces a cosmetic dentist may need to call on support from a qualified orthodontist. Yorkshire Dental Suite clinics have orthodontists on-site, able to help support your smile makeover treatment.
Yes, if the cosmetic dentist holds qualifications in oral surgery. Otherwise no. If you require oral surgery a cosmetic dentist may need to call on support from a specialist oral surgeon. Yorkshire Dental Suite clinics have oral surgeons on-site, able to help support your smile makeover treatment.
To achieve a natural result your teeth should be proportionally sized, have no damage, include natural elements such as translucency, texture, and be coloured to match a natural result. You should avoid overly big teeth, uniformly smooth teeth, and ultra-white results. Discuss your requirements with your cosmetic dentist for advice and support.
The NHS only undertake cosmetic dental treatments if there is a medical need. For example, if you have cancer or an accident that has affected the function of teeth. NHS cosmetic treatments are not designed to be aesthetic. As a result, treatments may include metallic-coloured crowns and other aspects that prevent your smile from looking natural.
