Why choose clear aligners?

A custom-made teeth straightening treatment tailored around contemporary living

01

Removable

Clear aligners fit your lifestyle. Remove the trays to eat, drink, brush your teeth, exercise or play an instrument.

02

Almost invisible

We use Zendura® FLX, a clear dental material designed for orthodontics, to ensure your aligners are nearly imperceptible in the mouth.

03

Extremely effective

From mild malocclusions to severe bite problems, our clear aligners treat a wide range of issues.

04

Fewer visits to the dentist

Aligners require no tightening or adjustments. This is a far cry from traditional fixed braces, which rely on constant appointments.

05

Rapid results

Depending on your misalignment, treatment times can be as little as four months.

The clear aligner process

Every step in your clear aligner journey is meticulously planned

From the very first set to the very last, clear aligners make your lifestyle a priority.

Once your trays have been posted to home, you will need to return to YDS. Here, your composite attachments are placed onto the teeth, and you are shown how to insert and remove your aligners.

Begin treatment

Follow the pre-determined plan set out by your dentist to straighten your teeth. Wear for 22 hours per day to see results.

Virtually invisible. Visibly transformative.

How do aligners compare to fixed braces?

Equal in effectiveness, elevated in convenience

For many, the first treatment that comes to mind when asked about teeth straightening is train-track braces. Whilst extremely effective for tooth movement (and free on the NHS for under 18’s), fixed braces are undeniably inconvenient, drawing attention to your mouth and requiring regular dentist visits.

Clear aligners forgo these issues. Metal wires and brackets are replaced with transparent trays, while pre-planned aligner sets take the place of routine in-person appointments. Perhaps the biggest and most significant difference? Aligners are removable, allowing you to continue your everyday life without disruption or discomfort.

What can clear aligners fix?

Every misalignment is considered

  • Overbite: the top teeth overlap the bottom teeth
  • Underbite: where the bottom teeth overlap the top teeth
  • Crossbite: a combination of over and underbite across multiple teeth
  • Overjet: teeth protrude out from the jaw
  • Open bite: when the top and bottom teeth do not come together when your jaws are closed
  • Gaps: teeth are spaced unevenly, causing visible gaps
  • Crowding: crooked teeth caused by teeth being pushed together

Clear aligner FAQs

Have more questions about clear aligners?

These are the ones our teeth straightening experts receive most.

Aligners are clear plastic retainers designed to apply pressure to individual teeth. This gradually moves each tooth along a predetermined path until straight. Your kit contains several packs of aligners for the different stages in your straightening journey.

The aligners offered by the GDC registered dentists and orthodontists at Yorkshire Dental Suite use a BPA free material called Zendura FLX which has peen specifically designed for dental applications.

The speed of treatment relates to the complexity of your case and the number of aligner steps needed to achieve a perfect straight smile.

  • You will start to see results in as little as 48 hours as your teeth begin to move
  • The average treatment time is 4-6 months
  • Complex and severe cases can take over 12 months

Once treatment is complete we recommend wearing retainers at night for a minimum of 2 years.

The price of treatment relates to the complexity of your case and the number of aligner steps needed to achieve a perfect straight smile.

  • Single arch mild: £2495
  • Dual arch mild: £3,495
  • Single arch moderate: £2,750
  • Dual arch moderate: £3,995
  • Complex single arch: £2,750
  • Complex dual arch: £4,500

For complex+ and severe cases please contact us to discuss your options.

Clear aligners are the natural alternative to fixed metal braces, providing all of the functionality, and tackling the same complexity but without the inconvenience.

Yes, clear aligners are an effective treatment for open bite. This usually involves moving inward facing teeth into a normal position to correct bite issues.

Yes, clear aligners are an effective treatment for crowded teeth. This usually involves correcting gaps to provide more space for each tooth until it is in alignment. In extreme cases your orthodontist might recommend a molar extraction to provide needed space for your more visible teeth.

Aligners and braces cost roughly the same, and tackle the same issues in similar timeframes. This makes then roughly equal in effectiveness. The main difference is that braces are permanently fixed to your teeth and aligners are almost invisible and removable affording more flexibility and convenience. While ceramic braces and lingual braces offer improved visibility, they do so at an increase in cost. However, this cannot compete with the convenience of a removable aligner which allows you to eat, speak, sing, play instruments, sports and have intimacy without restriction.

Yes. Clear aligners are a safe treatment supervised by fully qualified GDC registered dentists. The aligners are made from a PBA free material that is specifically designed for dental treatments.

Just like braces, aligners can be painful. This is at its peak each time the aligner is updated to the next set. Manage this pain with over the counter pain medication until your mouth adjusts.

Yes, clear aligners are an effective treatment for an underbite. This usually involves moving inward facing teeth into a normal position to correct bite issues.

Drinking coffee, red wine, tomato or berry juice can stain aligners. We recommend aligners be removed before drinking benerages.

No. Aligners are not effective if you have missing teeth. Discuss having a dental implant to fill any gaps in your smile before starting treatment.

Smoking or vaping while wearing clear aligners will stain them. As a result, dentists and orthodontists recommend stopping smoking while having treatment. Discuss your options with your local GP and quit today.

With 1,000s of happy patients we can confidently claim that clear aligners work and are an effective treatment for a wide range of malocclusions and bite issues.

Eating while wearing clear aligners can break them, causing a delay in your treatment and potentially regressing the position of your teeth. As a result, orthodontists recommend removing clear aligners to eat. Removal is a simple procedure. Just pick the aligners away from your attachments to free them. If you have difficulty consider purchasing an aligner removal tool.

Remember to clean your teeth and rinse your aligner under clean cold water before reinserting.

Yes, clear aligners are an effective treatment for an overbite. This usually involves moving outward and inward facing teeth into a normal position to correct bite issues.

There are no intrinsic differences between clear aligners and Invisalign. Both work in exactly the same way to deliver the same result.

There are some minor differences in materials used and what packages or levels of treatment are called. Some clear aligner brands are unable to treat kids and teens, whereas both Invisalign and Yorkshire Dental Suite offer this treatment.

The main difference is pricing. Invisalign do not provide clear pricing on their website. Instead they allow local dentists to charge different prices. This means pricing can vary wildly from location to location and people in inner city areas potentially paying more than rurtal practices.

Yorkshire Dental Suite believe in being transparent with our pricing, charging the same across all clinics from cities like London to rural practices like Guiseley in West Yorkshire..

Correcting bite issues can have a dramatic effect on the shape of your face. For example correcting an underbite can give the appearance of a more typical jawline; correcting an overbite can alter how your lips cover your teeth; or fixing crossbite can make teeth more symmetrical.

Taking your aligners home after your consultation at a Yorkshire Dental Suite clinic is the safest way to start your treatment.

Choosing mail order or online aligners can come with some risk if the instructions are not followed. With gel or putty based moulds the process can be messy and imprecise. This can cause irritation and complications when your aligners are delivered.

That's why orthodontists recommend choosing professional aligner treatments from a GDC registered dentist or orthodontist.

Yes, clear aligners are an effective treatment for deep bite. This usually involves moving outward and inward facing teeth into a normal position to correct bite issues.

Yes, clear aligners are an effective treatment for a wide range of jaw alignment issues caused by malocclusions and bite issues. It is not effective as a replacement for TMJ (temporomandibular joint) where alignment issues are caused by a different issue.
