In comparison, composite bonding lasts 5 - 8 years. This durability comes at a higher initial cost of £895 per tooth for veneers, in contrast to the £495 price tag of composite bonding.
The procedure itself also differs. For veneers, two sessions are required to achieve a comprehensive transformation, as opposed to one for composite bonding. In addition to this, while composite bonding is a minimally invasive treatment that doesn’t affect the natural tooth, porcelain veneers require part of the tooth being shaved down before attaching the crown on top. Something else to note is that, if your teeth are severely worn or damaged, porcelain veneers may be the better option, helping to fix the issue itself rather than disguising it with a hard-wearing resin.

Covering just the front surface of the tooth, porcelain veneers are ideal for those wanting cosmetic changes with minimal prep. Comparatively, crowns replace the whole visible portion of the tooth, and are typically used for structural reasons.
Your dentist will determine this. Many patients choose to have just six or eight veneers on their top teeth, as they are the ones that are visible when they smile. This offers a cost saving. Others opt for a full mouth of porcelain veneers for a Hollywood finish.
