What are dental implants?
Replace painful damaged, decaying and missing teeth with dental implants. These metal posts are inserted into the jawbone to replace a tooth root. They are topped with a porcelain crown, or where multiple teeth are being replaced, a zirconia arch.
- Design your smile with a GDC-registered dentist to get the smile you want
- You have anaesthesia or sedation to make the procedure painless
- Implants are inserted through the gum, attaching to the jawbone
- Using an abutment, temporary crowns or bridges are fit
- Once your implants have fused with your jawbone, your final crowns or bridges are fit
The initial treatment takes just a few hours, while recovery takes around 3 - 4 months. Implants can last up to 20 years with care.
