More about
our process

Practice principal, Implant Surgeon and Specialist Oral Surgeon Dr. Abdul Dalghous is regarded as the go-to clinician in the U.K (not just Leeds) for wisdom teeth extractions and complex oral surgery.

If your wisdom teeth don’t have enough room to break into your mouth, they can be painful, damage your jaw and other teeth, and leave your gums inflamed. So it’s best to have them dealt with.

Why are my wisdom teeth causing me pain?

It could be that your mouth’s too small to make room for the new teeth, or they’re just growing at an angle and pushing up against your other molars. Either way, we’ll remove them easily so the rest of your teeth have room to breathe.

Treatment:
Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom tooth extraction- I was nervous and apprehensive. I was put at my ease and literally, the tooth was out in 30 seconds. So fast and painless, couldn’t believe it took so little time. Great COVID precautions too, felt very safe with the measures they have put in place.

FAQ's

You’ve probably got tonnes of questions.
But before you get in touch, we’ve
answered the most common ones.

What problems can arise if I don’t remove my wisdom teeth?

Wisdom teeth, if not grown properly, can cause further dental problems, including damage to surrounding teeth, inflamed/infected gum tissue, jaw damage (cyst growth), cavities, alignment problems, or sinus issues.

Can I be sedated during my wisdom tooth removal?

We offer sedation for all dental treatments.
One of the most popular uses of sedation is for wisdom teeth extractions. Before the procedure, Dr. Dalghous will carry out a pre-sedation assessment in order to make sure all is ok before having the treatment done under sedation.

Is the treatment going to be painful?

The only thing you should feel is a slight scratch as the anesthetic is being administered. Following that you will feel no pain just pressure and slight pushing as Dr. Dalghous takes the wisdom tooth out.

What are dry sockets and how do I know if I have one?

Once the tooth is removed, there is a hole in the bone called a socket. A blood clot forms in that area to protect the bone and nerves underneath.

If that clot becomes dislodged or aggravated, it will cause the bone and nerve to be exposed to air, fluids and food, causing an infection – or a dry socket. You will know you have this as you will feel pain radiating up to the ear as well as a bad taste in your mouth and possibly bad breath.

Don’t worry however, dry socket is quite common following a wisdom tooth extraction so all you need to do is get in touch with us and we will bring you in to put a special medicine in the socket to ease the pain and get rid of the dry socket.

Can I go to work the next day?

We usually recommend resting the next day following the extraction in case of any swelling or bruising however if you need to go to work then it is fine to do so as long as you take it easy.

Can you afford not to?

How much could not having dental treatment now cost you in the future? Are you suffering from a lack of confidence? Are you struggling to eat properly? Is your speech affected? Time is something you can’t get back & with the right treatment, you can transform your smile and live a happier, healthier life.
